Accessible Nourishment Fund

In an effort to make this year’s meeting of the Society for Disability Studies as accessible as possible for student members, the Student Caucus is raising money for an Accessible Nourishment Fund which will allow us to provide food for members during meal-time sessions as well as make sure all interested members might take part in our Caucus social, regardless of their financial means.

If you’d like to help us in accomplishing this goal, please follow this link in order to contribute to the Fund: https://www.crowdrise.com/accessiblenourishmentfund-sdsstudentcaucus/ This initiative provides an immediate and material way to support students in Disability Studies, who are the future of the field, so your generosity is greatly appreciated!

And for those interested, the Accessible Nourishment Fund will specifically be used for the following events:

a) To provide lunch at the following three meal-time events that we are sponsoring: “An Introduction to SDS: Welcome and Q&A with Conference Veterans for First-time Attendees,” and the Student Caucus meeting which will both take place on Thursday, June 11, 12:15-1:15pm, as well as the professionalization roundtable “Accessing the Ivory Tower: Professionalization for Disability Studies Scholars in Academia,” which will take place on Friday, June 12, 12:15-1:15pm.

b) To provide light snacks and refreshments at the one early evening event we are sponsoring: the professionalization roundtable “Let’s Get Versatile: Disability Studies Beyond the Academy,” which will take place on Friday, June 12, 5:30-6:30pm.

c) To help subsidize the Student Caucus Social on Thursday, June 11, 7:30-9:00pm in order to make the event inclusive of all student members, regardless of their individual financial means. Location of the Student Caucus Social is yet to be determined but will close to the conference hotel.
