Interaction Badge Facilitation

A Collaboration between the Student Caucus and the Neurodiversity Caucus

Interaction badges are an access technology that were developed by autistic communities/organizations such as Autscape and the Autistic Self Advocacy Network in order to make interactions in social spaces like conferences more accessible to neurodiverse individuals. While interaction badges were first adopted at SDS a few years ago, their uneven use at past conferences severely detracted from their value. Thus, at SDS 2015 in Atlanta the Student Caucus and the Neurodiversity Caucus will be collaborating to distribute materials at the conference’s front desk explaining how the interaction badge system works and promoting its adoption by all attendees.
